How to choose the right Loungewear

How to choose the right Loungewear

My definition of ‘loungewear’ pre Covid would have been: ‘comfortable, cosy clothes you wear whilst you’re lounging around the house, most likely to be worn on a Sunday, especially if you’re nursing a hangover.’ Now we’re in Lockdown 3, I think it’s safe to say most of us are living in our Loungewear most of the day, most of the time. At the start of lockdown 1, ‘Loungewear’ had a bit of a buzz about it. People, (myself included) were excited to dress down. There was a surge in sales of joggers, hoodies and knitwear. I had plenty of clients […]

Don’t forget to wear your Face Mask!

Don't forget to wear your Face Mask!

Do you remember the good old days when ‘putting on a face mask’ was something you did as part of your beauty pampering session? How life has changed; now you can’t leave the house without checking your pockets for your face mask! How has wearing a face mask effected your make-up routine? I’ve always been a massive lipstick girl, the brighter the shade the better but I’ve noticed I hardly ever wear it now… I’m not sure if it’s because I can’t be bothered or if it’s to save me the embarrassment of looking ridiculous: Taking off your face mask […]

Having to dye your own hair during Lockdown?

Having to dye your own hair during Lockdown?

Here we are in Lockdown number 3.. How’s your hair looking? I’m actually growing out my bob and it’s at that stage (finally) where it’s comfortably going into a bun… As for my highlights, they’re conveniently tucked into the bun, out of sight, out mind, thankfully, because they’ve totally outgrown, have faded and against my black roots my hair resembles a Duracle battery! I’ve managed to get an appointment with my hairdresser for the 11th March and I can’t wait! Whether lockdown is over by then is another matter?! During the 1st and 2nd lockdown so many women had to […]

Make Space for the New by Cleansing out the Old

When I do a wardrobe edit, I generally have a one-year rule; if I or one of my clients haven’t worn an item in the past year it most probably means it’s passed it has wardrobe shelf date. This item will lose its privileges to space in the wardrobe and will either be packed away in the loft or taken to a charity shop. If I was to follow that rule today and look at the items in my wardrobe with the same scrutiny, I’d be left with nothing but leggings and my so-called lounge wear! 2020 was a depressing […]

Christmas 2020, the Perfect Year to give a Gift of an Experience.

Christmas 2020, the Perfect Year to give a Gift of an Experience.

2020 has been a year like no other and Christmas 2020 is most definitely not going to be like any other! With London now in Tier 3 ALL of my Christmas shopping was done online. I love Christmas shopping in stores, it’s the one time of the year I don’t mind the rush or the queues. Maybe it’s the frequent prosecco stops in between present buying that takes the edge of things! With hospitality now closed though, I couldn’t face getting on a train with my mask on, knowing that the virus is still very much alive and kicking. So, […]

Learn the key Rules on how to Dress Your Body Shape

Have you ever really wanted to book a Personal Stylist but talked yourself out of it, thinking you don’t want to get used to having such a good thing and the fees that come with it? It’s a little bit like hiring a personal trainer, you KNOW you’ll get the results but don’t want to be in a situation where you won’t be motivated to work out without them? I know plenty of clients that prior to being styled by me, simply couldn’t shop without their previous stylist, which of course became an expensive habit. This is where we at […]
