It’s February; you’ve made it! Yes you’ve made it through dry January and more importantly you’ve made it through to the end of the sales! Now it’s time to enjoy all the new stock that’s going to be filtering through to the stores. Here are some key trends for Spring Summer 2018 to get you excited.

Colour Trends:

Ice Cream Pastels

Anything with a gelato hue is sweet for SS18! Note these are not muted pastels you’ll find in an English garden these are icy pastels or as I like to call them rainbow pastels and the season they would suit more than any other would be a Winter. Think icy pink, icy lemon, icy blue!

Pop Colours

The season is bright! Think Crayola and primary colours: bright red, blue and yellow. Another palette that works for Winters and makes a great alternative to all the icy pastels.

Utra Violet

It’s the colour of the year and as such you’ll be seeing ultra violet everywhere! Every season has some form of purple for them, so no one should avoid it, go on embrace your inner Prince!

Fabric Trends:

Double Denim

Our Denim this season is getting more sophisticated you’ll want yours to come structured, tailored, pin-tucked and most importantly dark. Luckily every season can do navy so ditch last seasons stoned washed and don’t be afraid to double or even triple denim.

Plastic

The most out-there trend of 2018 is transparency, or plastic to be clear J Perfect for British summers right? Be it a sheer coat or even sheer plasic boots!

Texture Trends:

Fringing

Less wild west and more glamourous bohemian. If a fringed dress is too much of a statement, try a statement bag or statement boots to be bang on trend.

Feathers

Fluffy marabou and ostrich fluttered across the runways, again if you don’t fancy looking like a bird keep this trend on your accessories.

Ruching

Figure hugging dresses with an added drawstring to create ruching and more texture to any outfit, perfect for any one who wants to add some curves

Print Trends

Tropical Prints

Are you ready to wear a Hawaiian shirt? Apparently we’ll all be wearing them this summer!

Arty prints

In the new era of exhibitionism, it’s all about making your outfit pop with an arty reference. Andy Warhol and Versace!

Checks

The It print is most definitely going to be a check, be it a heritage check, or folksy gingham or bright checks this is one print we can all embrace.

We at Style ME will know exactly what SS18 trend will suit you most and which one to invest in, so before you rush out in excitement book a colour analysis or wardrobr styling session so you don’t waste your money on trends that may look good on the runway but will do nothing for your shape or complexion!
